FCCLA is proud to continue the successful Adviser Academy—a five track program for FCCLA national recognition. The Adviser Academy is comprised of four professional development tracks held during FCCLA national meetings and one track completed with state advisers. Advisers selected to the Academy are encouraged to commit to attendance at each track. Advisers will receive a certificate of completion for the Adviser Academy. 2010-2011 Adviser Academy application.

·         Track 1 Objectives:  New Adviser – Developing a Chapter Vision
(Held in conjunction with the National Leadership Conference)

·        Track 2 Objectives:  Using Legislation to Change the Classroom
(Held in conjunction with the USA Leadership Training)

·         Track 3 Objectives:  Leading at School
(Held in conjunction with the National Cluster Meetings)

·         Track 4 Objectives:  Remaining Relevant as a Chapter
(Held in conjunction with the National Leadership Conference)

·         Track 5 Objectives :  Participating at the State Level

Adviser Academy participants will be required to volunteer in at least one state meeting (e.g. conduct a workshop).

Track I: New Adviser—Developing a Chapter Vision (Held in conjunction with the National Leadership Conference)- Advisers will be introduced to the National Consultant Team, learn about FCCLA curriculum, tools and integrating FCCLA into the classroom.

Track 2: Using Legislation to Change the Classroom (Held in conjunction with the USA Leadership Training- Washington, DC-September 30-October 3, 2009)-Academy advisers will be integrated into USA Training and receive training from a professional lobbyist on how to effectively take the FCCLA message to policymakers.
