She then instantly knew FCCLA was the organization for her. Since then, she has wanted to wear her own official FCCLA red blazer as a National Officer. This dream came true in Anaheim, July 2007 when she was elected National Officer, 2007-2008 National Vice-President of Public Relations. Before achieving this lifelong goal, there were many steps Catherine needed to take. Over the years, she has attended numerous National Cluster Meetings and four National Leadership Meetings across the country. Catherine has participated in three STAR Events and was the Montana FCCLA State President last year. Now, as a senior at Three Forks High School in Three Forks, Montana, Catherine is ready to take her leadership skills to the next level and spread the word about the “Ultimate Leadership Experience.” While she is extremely involved in FCCLA, Catherine also finds time to be involved in numerous extra curricular activities. She is a member of the Three Forks Wolves Varsity volleyball, basketball, and golf teams, and also participates in Science Club, Academic Olympics, and BPA. Catherine also enjoys being on Student Council and mentoring Elementary Students. In her spare time, Catherine enjoys traveling to visit family in England and spending time laughing with her friends. She is very grateful to have her amazing friends who support her in whatever she sets her mind too! Her adviser Cathe Felz, her parents, Jane and Smith Roedel, and her local FCCLA chapter have all played an important part in her reaching her goal of wearing a FCCLA red blazer and becoming a member of the National Executive Council (NEC)! One quote that Catherine feels is a new goal for her year as a member of the NEC is one said by Harold R. McAlindon. He said, “Do not follow where the path may lead. Go instead where there is no path and leave a trail.” She hopes to leave trails for many FCCLA members to follow in the future. Catherine Roedel: necvppr@gmail.com
